Both charge on what the AI sells
Substy and FanBotify share the same idea: the AI should earn its cost. According to its site, Substy's plans range from a $0 Starter with 15% to Pro at $69 with 10% and Elite at $99 with 8.5%, taken on the net revenue the AI generates. FanBotify's plans are Starter $19, Creator $49 with the first month free, and Agency $129 for 3 creators, each plus 25% of the paid messages the AI sells. That share never applies to tips, subscriptions or your own sales. Which works out cheaper depends on your volume: run your own numbers with both price lists. FanBotify also refunds the plan if the agent sells less than the plan costs in the first 30 paid days (conditions in the terms).
Why Fanvue creators look for a Substy alternative
- Built for Fanvue only. FanBotify connects through the official Fanvue Developer API with Fanvue sign-in, and everything in it, from the Vault catalog to the automations, is designed around Fanvue.
- Per-fan pricing. Each offer is priced for the fan, following how engaged he is, inside bounds you set (lowest 0.8x to 1.0x, highest 1.2x to 2.0x the base price).
- Storyline bundles. A shoot can be sold tier after tier as a storyline, from up to 6 tiers of 4 to 60 items sold as bundles of 4 to 6.
- Safety stops. Every message is checked before sending; the AI never sells to fans in distress and stops and alerts you if a fan may be a minor.
- Automations on Creator and up: a welcome within a minute, one follow-up on unopened PPV, a win-back message when auto-renew is turned off, tip goals at peak hours, and AI Prospection for personal DMs to segments.
Human and AI together
Substy's site describes a hybrid hand-off to a human. FanBotify does this with rule-based hand-offs: crisis or self-harm messages and possible minors (always on), requests marked "needs approval", refunds, chargebacks or disputes, upset or abusive fans, and a single payment above an amount you set. You get an alert on Telegram or email and in the dashboard. You can also run in drafts mode, where the AI writes and you approve.
When to stay with Substy
- You also sell on OnlyFans or MYM and want one tool for every platform. FanBotify works on Fanvue only.
- You want a hybrid mode where a human takes over at a threshold, as Substy describes it.
- You need an API and MCP access for your own tools, which its site lists.
- You prefer a $0 starting plan with a higher commission, as its Starter plan offers.
Questions to answer before switching
- Do you sell only on Fanvue, or on several platforms? This decides most of the choice.
- Do you want offers priced per fan, inside bounds you set?
- Do you sell shoots as a progression that storyline mode would suit?
- Do you need API access for your own tools?
Running your own numbers
To compare cost fairly, take a recent month and separate what came from paid messages, tips and subscriptions. For FanBotify, add the plan price to {FEE}% of the paid messages the AI would sell; tips and subscriptions are not counted. For Substy, apply the plan's percentage to the net revenue its site says the AI generates. Then compare what each tool would do for that money: per-fan pricing, storyline bundles, safety stops and the automations above on one side, multi-platform coverage and API access on the other.
Agencies
Substy's site lists an agency CRM with team roles. FanBotify's Agency plan puts 3 creators in one workspace with 5 team seats and 6,000 messages a month shared; Enterprise covers more creators at a negotiated rate. Each model keeps an isolated bot, voice, limits, catalog and fan memory. See Fanvue chatbot for agencies.
Switching to FanBotify
- Sign in with Fanvue and authorize FanBotify. It never sees your password.
- Teach it your voice: persona, writing style, languages, limits and example messages.
- Build your tiers and bundles from your Vault, or let "Sort with AI" do it.
- Set base prices and per-fan bounds, choose automatic or drafts, and launch when ready.
Try before you decide
If Fanvue is your main platform, the simplest test is to run FanBotify on your own account in drafts mode for a few days and read what it would send to your fans. Nothing goes live before you launch, and Creator's first month is free.
