Why a glossary for Fanvue creators
When you start selling on Fanvue, or talk to an agency for the first time, you hear a lot of shorthand: chatters, OFM, PPV, whales, churn, customs. Some of it comes from agencies, some from the tools they use, and the same word can mean slightly different things depending on who says it. This glossary gives one clear definition for each term, written for creators who run their own account and for agency owners who manage several models.
The terms
- Fanvue chatter: A person or AI that answers a creator's fans in her name on Fanvue and sells her content in the chat.
- AI chatter: Software that holds the whole fan conversation on its own, in the creator's voice, and sells within her rules.
- OFM chatbot: A chatbot an online fan management agency uses to answer and sell to the fans of the models it manages.
- Fanvue CRM: A tool that keeps a profile of every Fanvue fan: purchases, spend, status and conversation history.
- OFM (online fan management): The business of running creators' fan accounts for them: chatting, selling, posting and growth.
- PPV (pay-per-view): Content locked in a message or post that a fan pays to unlock, priced in each offer.
- Dynamic pricing: Setting the price of each PPV offer for the fan in front of you, inside bounds the creator chooses.
- Mass message: One message sent at once to many fans or to a list, often with a locked PPV attached.
- Upsell: Offering a fan who just bought the next, bigger or more exclusive piece of content.
- Whale: A fan who spends far more than most, often across many purchases and tips.
- Churn: Fans who stop subscribing, stop buying or go quiet over a given period.
- Custom request: Content made to order for one fan, quoted, paid and approved before it is promised.
How the terms fit together
Most of these words describe one loop. A chatter, human or AI, talks to fans and sells PPV. A CRM remembers who each fan is and what he bought, so the next offer can be an upsell rather than a repeat, priced with dynamic pricing. A few fans become whales; others drift away, which is churn. Mass messages reach many fans at once, while customs serve one fan at a time. Agencies that run all of this for creators work in OFM, often with an OFM chatbot.
Where to go next
If you want the practical side rather than the definitions, the Fanvue guides cover pricing, mass messages, win-back and customs step by step. To see how an AI chatter handles these ideas on a real account, read about FanBotify's Fanvue AI chatter, or compare the plans.
