What a Fanvue chatter does
A chatter answers your fans in your name: welcomes new subscribers, keeps conversations going, sells PPV and customs, follows up with quiet fans and flags anything unusual. The job is part writing, part sales and part judgment: knowing when to sell, when to wait and when to stop.
Where to find chatters
- Chatting agencies: they supply trained chatters, shifts and a manager, and charge more for it.
- Freelance marketplaces: many freelancers offer Fanvue chatting; check reviews and test before trusting.
- Creator and OFM communities: recommendations from other creators are often the safest lead.
How chatters are usually paid
Most chatters are paid a share of the sales they make, sometimes on top of a small base or an hourly rate. Agencies usually take a larger share than independent chatters because they handle hiring, training and supervision. Whatever the model, agree in writing on what counts as "their" sale (paid messages only, or tips too) and when you pay.
Give access safely
- Never share your Fanvue password. Use Fanvue's own team or manager access where you can, so you can remove someone without changing your login.
- Write down your limits: what you never do, what needs your OK, what can be said about your life.
- Keep payments on Fanvue: no fan should ever be sent to another payment method.
- Check the first conversations yourself, then spot-check every week.
Test before you hire
- Give two or three candidates the same short brief and a few sample fan messages.
- Compare tone, grammar, how they sell and whether they respect your limits.
- Run a paid trial week on your account, with clear numbers to beat.
The risks
- Gaps in coverage: fans buy late at night; one chatter cannot cover every hour.
- Script fatigue: copied scripts read the same to every fan and stop working. See why scripts stop working.
- Turnover: every new chatter has to learn your voice and your fans again.
- Safety: a chatter must stop with minors and never pressure a fan in distress.
When an AI chatter is the better hire
An AI chatter answers every fan, every hour, remembers each one and keeps your voice, without shifts or turnover. Many creators let the AI handle the conversations and keep a human for exceptions. Compare both in AI vs human chatters, or see FanBotify's Fanvue AI chatter.
